Travel from Cuba to Morocco: Documents and requirements
Morocco is a welcoming destination, however, there are a few things that must be done in preparation for your trip to Morocco from Cuba. Most travelers who want to visit Morocco can do so without applying for a visa if their trip will not exceed three months. However, it is essential that all travellers arrive with a passport that is valid for at least six months from the time you enter Morocco.
Your stay as a visitor is limited to three months, but can be extended at a Moroccan police station. Visiting areas outside recognised tourist zones is not recommended for security reasons. Travel regulations are known to change without prior notice to the public. We recommend before travelling, to check the current regulations with Tour 360 Morocco or the Moroccan Embassy in Cuba.
Documents and requirements to travel from Cuba to Morocco?
- Visa: Required
- Your passport must be valid six months after the date of entry.
- Return flights.
However, it is possible to extend your stay by applying to the Moroccan authorities. Once in the country, an entry and exit form must be completed.
ADDRESS OF ACCOMMODATION: It is necessary to write down the address of the accommodation where you are going to stay. You will be asked for this information on the entry paper.
Special situations
If you want to go to Morocco to work, you will need a work visa or a work permit. This requires a work contract approved by the Moroccan Ministry of Employment.
Children aged sixteen and under may travel on their parents‘ passports, but must have photographs included in their parents’ passports, or entry to Morocco may be refused.
Arriving in Morocco
On arrival at the airport you should receive a stamp in your passport. Be sure to acquire this stamp, as there have been reported situations where a stamp was not placed in a traveller’s passport and consequently made it difficult to leave Morocco without proof of entry.
Extended stay or permanent relocation to Morocco
If you are already in Morocco and wish to relocate permanently, or if you are an exchange student, you should go to the local Moroccan police station in the district where you reside. There you can contact the Bureau des Étrangers, an immigration authority, and apply for a residence permit. Applying for an extended visa can be a timely process, so what some travellers do is take a trip out of Morocco for a day or two before their three months are up. However, be aware that in some cases people tried this and were refused re-entry until they contacted the nearest Moroccan embassy to reapply.
Travellers are encouraged to carry a copy of their passports with them at all times. If questioned by local officials, it is important to have proof of identity and citizenship of your country.
Security in Morocco
On the security front, as is the case in many countries, Morocco is under threat from terrorists, although there have been no recent attacks. Nevertheless, it is a recommended destination for both families and girls travelling alone, as long as certain guidelines are followed.
