Explore and discover the south of Morocco with these 3 Days From Fes to Merzouga Sahara Desert. We will start our trip from Fes, and we will drive to the south visiting the Ifrane or called the Switzerland of Morocco and visiting the cedar’s forest of Azrou before reaching the palm grove of Ziz valley. Also, we will enjoy a camel ride and magical sunset and sunrise in the Sahara desert of Erg chebbi. Before ending our 3 days tour from Fes in the cultural capital of Morocco, Fes.

Itinerary: 3 Days From Fes to Merzouga Sahara Desert

Day 1.- Fes - Azrou - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Erg Chebbi (Merzouga). [ 7 Hours driving ]

We will start our 3 Days From Fes to Merzouga Sahara Desert in the morning we leave for Midelt passing through the cedar forest, villages and mountains of the middle Atlas. We pass through the Ziz valley and gorges and in the afternoon we arrive at the spectacular dunes of Erg Chebbi where we take the camels to go to an oasis in the middle of the dunes, with a one hour ride to sleep in berber camp (an unforgettable night). Dinner and overnight in the berber camp.

Day 2 : Excursion in the Merzouga Desert

The second day will be dedicated to enjoy the most spectacular part of the Eastern Sahara. We will go into the desert in the 4x4, visit nomad villages, see oases and ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Following the route we will visit the famous village of Khamlia where the Gnawa, descendants of slaves from Africa, can be found and enjoy their amazing folk music. In the evening, we will return to the hotel to relax, after we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3 : Merzouga - Rissani - Ziz Valley - Middle Atlas - Fes [ 7 Hours driving ]

The last day starts with an unforgettable image of the Sahara. On the way back to Fez we will pass through Tafilalt, Rissani (origin of the Alaouite dynasty and former capital of the Alaouite sultans), Azrou and Ifrane. In the national park of Azrou we will stop at the monkey forest, where you will be able to observe the monkeys and even feed them.
