A Trekking Trip in the Moroccan Desert, for those who are looking for something different, living an adventure and trekking in the Sahara Desert, come and discover the secrets of the desert with locals!

Hiking & Trekking in the Sahara Desert

Discovering the Sahara Desert in Morocco is one of the best desert treks we can experience. We will enjoy one of the most beautiful places on the planet: huge sand dunes, oasis and nights under the starry sky.

Day 1: Merzouga - Ouzina.

Pick up in Merzouga by our 4x4 and transfer to Ouzina.

Dinner and overnight in Ouzina.

The first day of the trekking

After breakfast and after preparing our luggage for our trekking, we start the route walking with two camels (one for the luggage and the other one in case someone of you need it at some point if you are tired). We will be accompanied by the cook and your companion. We will head towards the dunes of Ouzina, where we will discover a unique landscape, the purest desert, Saharan spaces formed by dunes, black mountains and acacias. We will also have the possibility to visit the nomads who live in the middle of the desert where we will be able to share a cup of tea with them. You can also help these nomadic families if you wish, bringing some clothes and utensils that you do not use at home.

At midday, our companions will prepare lunch for us, which we will have in the middle of nature, under the acacia trees.

After a refreshing rest, we will continue our way to the dunes in front of the mountain of Tagine. This is where we will have our first camp. Afterwards, dinner and overnight in our tents.

The second day of the trek

If you get up early you will have the opportunity to see the spectacular sunrise. After breakfast, we will continue our adventure across the dunes to the Tabkhot oasis.

Here we will have lunch in the shade of a palm tree next to a well, where the nomads of the region collect water for their animals.

In the afternoon, we will climb some small mountains to admire the beauty of the landscape from the heights, we will have a different view of the road we have travelled and we will see from another point of view the dunes and the Saharan spaces with their contrasting colours.

In the afternoon, we continue with our trail and after crossing the mountain, we will arrive at the Ramlia dunes, where we will set up our tents and if we have enough time, we will enjoy a magical sunset before our dinner. Overnight in tents.

The third day of the trek

We will get up early enough to watch the spectacular sunrise while we have our replenishing breakfast. This day we will enjoy more walking time, so we will start our trekking route by crossing a dry lake and head to the village of Ouzina via the old Dakar track. For lunch, our cook will prepare it for us in the middle of nature under some trees where we will have the opportunity to take a break. In the afternoon, we will continue along the side of the dunes where we will have the unique view of the golden colour of the dunes next to the black colour of the mountain. Already at sunset, we will arrive at the lodge to take a shower, after relaxing with a welcome tea, we will have dinner and overnight.

The last day:

Transfer to Merzouga with our 4x4 and end of our Sahara Desert Hiking & Trekking trip and our services.
