Lá 1: Marrakech - Imlil - Base Camp of Toubkal
Begin your 5 Days Mount Toubkal Ascent & Sahara Desert Tour adventure by driving from the bustling city of Marrakech to the serene village of Imlil. As you journey south, you'll pass through the picturesque Haouz Plain and the charming town of Asni. The road then winds its way up into the foothills of the Toubkal Massif, offering breathtaking views of the Oued Rhirhaia Valley below.
Upon reaching Imlil, you'll meet your mountain guide and start your trek through the Imlil Valley. Your first stop is the village of Aremd, the largest in the valley, known for its traditional terraced farming and lively streets filled with goats and cattle. Continue on to the shrine of Sidi Chamarouch, perched on a moraine spur overlooking the valley. The village, nestled beside a small waterfall, is a fascinating jumble of houses that seem to blend into one another.
From here, the trail climbs steadily, zigzagging up to the Toubkal Refuge at an altitude of 3,206 meters, where you will spend the night. This trek, approximately 5 to 6 hours long, offers stunning views and a taste of Berber village life.
Lá 2: Base Camp - Cruinniú Mullaigh Toubkal - Imlil
Rise early to embark on your ascent to the summit of Jebel Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak at 4,165 meters. The route takes you up the south cirque, across scree fields, and over numerous boulders and rocks. While the trek is challenging due to the altitude and terrain, the panoramic views are worth every step.
Upon reaching the summit, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking vistas in every direction, from the Marrakech Plain to the Ard-Atlas in the north, and as far south as the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara. After soaking in the views, you'll retrace your steps back down the mountain and return to Imlil. Spend the night in a local accommodation. The day's trek is a total of 9 to 10 hours.
Lá 3: Imlil - Ait ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley
Depart from Imlil at 9:00 am and embark on a scenic drive over the Atlas Mountains via the stunning Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Along the way, you'll pass through numerous sráidbhailte Berber, witness the transformation from lush valleys to the arid desert, and see kasbahs dotting the landscape.
