DAY 1: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – DADES VALLEY

Our 4 days from Marrakech to Fes via Merzouga Sahara Desert begins by crossing the High Atlas Mountains. We will pass through Tizi N’Tichka, the highest road pass in North Africa at 2260 meters, making several stops along the way to capture spectacular panoramic views. We will visit an argan oil cooperative, where you’ll learn about the production process and discover the many benefits this oil offers for the body.

Next, we’ll continue south on a 6 km track leading us to the village of Ait Ben Haddou, where we’ll tour the Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This stunning location has served as the backdrop for famous films like Gladiator and The Jewel of the Nile. After lunch along the route, we’ll proceed to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the great desert, passing through the Palm Grove of Skoura and the Valley of the Roses on our way to the Dades Valley.

Finally, we’ll reach our accommodation in Dades, where we’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night.

DAY 2: DADES VALLEY – TODRA GORGE – JORF – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA – DROMEDARY RIDE AND OVERNIGHT STAY IN THE DESERT

After breakfast, we’ll ascend the valley through a stunning switchback road, arriving at the Dades Gorges. The Todra Gorges offer striking contrasts, with higher elevations and improved accessibility. We’ll continue through the Ziz Valley, passing the village of Erfoud, famous for its fossil discoveries.

In the afternoon, enjoy a camel ride to your Desert camp, where you’ll be greeted with tea and biscuits. From the camp, you can climb the nearby dunes, where the sunset unfolds into a breathtaking view that lingers for an extended period.

You’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in a luxurious camp, complete with a private bathroom and elegant Moroccan décor, designed to create an atmosphere of serenity and relaxation.

You’ll also delve deeper into their rich culture.

The day will also include a visit to the hidden village of Mefis, a chance to listen to traditional Gnawa music in Khamlia village, and, if the lake is full, a visit to the stunning Lake of Birds.

Following lunch, we’ll take you to your Riad, where you can check in and relax at your leisure. Whether you prefer to swim or take a walk to the nearby dunes, you will have time to unwind. Dinner will be served in the evening, and you’ll spend the night at the Riad. If you wish, you can choose to return to the desert camp for another memorable night.
